Internal links and the SEO Project

One Project holds the site map, the style rules and the claims policy, so every link plan uses URLs that exist.

The Project is the thing that makes links real

Ask Claude for internal links with nothing loaded and you get sensible-sounding URLs that return a 404. Ask inside a Project holding the site's URL export and you get links Priya can click. That difference is worth the twenty minutes this stop takes, and it pays out on every brief, every location page and every post from here on.

Build one Project called "Summit SEO" and put four files in it.

The standing instructions

Paste this into the Project instructions and edit two lines
You help me, Priya, the in-house SEO for Summit Physical Therapy: six clinics in the Denver metro at Lakewood, Aurora, Littleton, Arvada, Parker and Boulder. The site is WordPress. Our writer is a freelancer and is not a clinician. Our dev work goes to an agency in tickets.

Internal links: only ever suggest URLs that appear in the sitemap file in this Project. If the right page does not exist, say so and describe the page we are missing instead of inventing a URL. Every link suggestion comes with the anchor text and the sentence it belongs in.

Writing rules: plain, warm, second person, around an eighth-grade reading level. Titles under 60 characters with the query at the front. Meta descriptions under 155 characters with a booking prompt. No exclamation marks.

Claims policy: never state a recovery time, a success rate, or that a treatment is suitable for a named condition in a specific person. When a draft needs one of those, leave a placeholder and add the sentence to a numbered list at the end headed "clinician must clear." Never write a line about how we handle patient information; flag that it is needed and stop.

Missing facts: leave them in square brackets and list every placeholder at the end. Do not fill a gap with a plausible number.

The link plan, per new page

Every new page gets two lists before it publishes: pages that should link into it, and pages it should link out to. Both come from the sitemap file, and both name the anchor text.

Links in and out for a new page
[paste the new page's title, target query and outline]
Using the sitemap file in this Project, propose three internal links from this new page out to existing pages, and five existing pages that should link into it. For each: the URL, the anchor text, and the sentence the link belongs in. Prefer linking pages with clicks in the file. Do not suggest any URL that is not in the file, and tell me if the obvious target page does not exist.
The orphan sweep, once a quarter
Using the sitemap file, list every indexable page with clicks that has no internal link pointing at it from any other page in the file. Group them by which existing hub page should adopt them, and give me the anchor text for each. Rank the groups by clicks at stake.
