A rules card. Three lines on paper, signed by you and by your grown-up, standing next to the computer you use.
Who is here
Maya is 11. Her dad Karim signed in on his own account, because Claude accounts belong to grown-ups. Claude is a computer program that reads what you type and writes back. It is not a person, and it is not always right.
The three rules
A grown-up is here. Karim opens Claude and stays in the room. He sees what comes back, and if anything feels strange or unkind, Maya shows him right away.
Nothing private goes in. No full name, no school, no address, no photos of friends, no passwords. Claude does not need any of that to help with a book or a comic. If it asks anyway, the answer is still no.
Ask before you believe it. Claude can sound very sure and be wrong. Before a fact goes into homework, Maya asks where the two of them can check it. Then they check.
