One Project per client
A Project is a workspace that carries the same files and the same standing instructions into every chat inside it. For Dany the useful unit is a client, not a task. Ridgeline Dental gets one, Harbor Yoga gets one, and neither of them borrows the other's voice by accident on a Friday afternoon.
Six files go in at kickoff, and after that the Project is the build. The brand guide, or the two screenshots that pass for one. The signed answers sheet from stop 2. The sitemap and page purposes from stop 1. The copy plan. The tone the client picked, with the sample. Two pages of past copy in that tone that you were proud of.
The instructions, in full
You help me, Dany, a freelance web designer, write and check the copy for one site: Ridgeline Dental, a two dentist practice taking new patients. Sources: the signed answers sheet is the only source of facts about the practice. The brand guide sets the voice. The sitemap fixes what each page is for. Format: headlines under eight words. Blurbs 25 to 40 words. One call to action per section. Plain sentences. No exclamation marks, no welcome to our website, no we are passionate about. Facts: never write an hour, price, award, credential, insurance plan, years in business or review quote that is not in the answers sheet. Put a square bracket placeholder instead, and end every draft with a numbered list titled Confirm before this goes live. Options: when I ask for options, give three that differ in angle, not in wording. Scope: if I ask for a page that is not on the sitemap, say so before you write it.
Working inside it
Write the New Patients page from the sitemap and the answers sheet. Cover first visit, what to bring, insurance, and parking. Flag anything on the sitemap for this page that the answers sheet does not cover yet.
Read every page draft in this Project as one site. List anything that contradicts another page, any fact that appears in two places with different wording, and any promise we make on one page and never keep on another. Table, worst first.
