Proposal and budget
Scope, deliverables and timeline written from the schedule, a budget table with every number left blank for Ramez, and a usage-rights paragraph that says media, territory and duration.
The proposal is the scope, and the scope is the schedule
By the time Ramez writes a proposal he already has the treatment and the two day schedule. The proposal is those two documents rewritten for someone who is going to sign a number at the bottom. Seven sections, and none of them is a paragraph about passion.
What we make. The film in one line, plus the direction the client chose.
What you get. Every deliverable with a length, an aspect ratio, a language and a file format.
What we need from you. Access, approvals, brand assets, the person who signs off, and by when.
How it runs. Prep, shoot days, first cut, revisions, delivery, with dates.
What it costs. The budget table, priced by Ramez.
Usage rights. Media, territory, duration, exclusivity.
Not included. Talent fees, permits, translation of subtitles into a third language, travel outside Cairo, extra shoot days.
The last section is the one that saves the job. Everything a client later assumes was included is something that was never written down as excluded.
The budget table Ramez prices
Claude builds the rows and the quantities from the schedule, because the schedule is where the quantities actually live. Every price cell comes back as a labelled blank.
| Line | Quantity from the schedule | Price |
|---|---|---|
| Director and producer | 2 shoot days, 4 prep days | EGP ____ |
| Camera operator and kit | 2 days, 2 bodies | EGP ____ |
| Editor and grade | 6 post days | EGP ____ |
Ramez fills the column from his rate card in five minutes. What used to take an hour was never the pricing, it was writing out thirty rows without forgetting the second card reader.
Inside my studio Project. Write a client proposal from the attached treatment and schedule, in seven sections: what we make, what you get, what we need from you, how it runs with dates, what it costs, usage rights, and what is not included. Deliverables must state length, aspect ratio, language and format. Follow my pricing rule: every number is a labelled blank. Keep the whole thing under two pages. [paste the treatment and schedule]
Build the budget table for this job. One row per line item, grouped as pre-production, shoot, post and other. Take every quantity from the schedule and the shot list, and say which document each quantity came from. Price column stays as EGP ____ on every row. Then list the line items you think I have forgotten based on the shot list, especially kit, permits and anything that only appears on day two.
Write three usage-rights options for this client: internal and owned channels only, paid social for twelve months in Egypt, and broadcast plus paid worldwide in perpetuity. For each, state media, territory, duration and exclusivity in plain sentences a marketing manager understands, and note what changes about my obligations for talent, music and any generated footage. No prices.
